Dogs. They are inferior, mouth breathing creatures. Yet, some of you hoomans prefer them. Why is this? Let me spell it all out for you and prove to you hoomans that cats are a better choice. Cats are generally lower-maintenance, independent, and better suited for small spaces or busy lifestyles. My goal is to make everyone a cat person.
Cats are so sophisticated. We even cover our pee and poop for you…..well…..most of the time. If I am in a mood, I do tend to show my disapproval with a well placed poop or pee outside of the litter box. Dogs go to the bathroom OUTSIDE.
They make you hoomans walk around in all kinds of weather and then you have to clean up their mess! They just expect you hoomans to be their poop couriers.
Cats are often more cost-effective because we do not require investments in time for training and do not usually require baths or grooming. We groom and keep ourselves clean. Look at me! I am a pristine kitty. Do you think those worker hoomans get credit for that? No, I spend A LOT of time working on myself.
Cats are often content with solitude or limited interaction. I love my “me time”. I can lounge in the sunshine and take my nappys. Sometimes, I just sit in a well placed area and observe the crazy stuff that goes on around the clinic. We cats are usually pretty quiet. I have scared them worker hoomans many times with my stealthy approach. The worker hoomans say that I am lurking about but I gain a lot of knowledge from observing. For example, did you know that those worker hoomans play with animal poop? Oh yeah! That is a fact. I see them getting the sample sometimes from some poor unsuspecting pet that just thought they were dropping by for a visit. You do not even want to know how that goes down! I am just saying that, if you can, you need to bring that stool sample in for your pet. They get that sample and then stir it around and play with it! It eventually ends up being dropped on to a glass thingy but that is a story for another day.
The cost of cat food is generally lower. To you hoomans, this should be a great reason to get a cat instead of a drooling dog. It does not really effect me as I have an unlimited supply of money and servants that bring it all to me. I get a huge salary for managing the hoomans. I never see it but I know it is there. I mean having me around is priceless!
Cats are excellent jumpers and climbers. If you need something on a shelf, we will gladly climb up and knock it down for you. Will a dog do that for you? No, they are clumsy oafs! We have the moves for any situation.
Finally, as if you need any more reasons, we tend to live longer. We have an average lifespan of 15 years while for dogs it is 12 years. According to the Google, there is currently a 30 year old tortoiseshell cat who lives in England. The oldest cat to ever live was 38 years old. She was a tabby like me. You all could have a lot more years of Bettie!

Spot on, Bettie!
