Dot Dot just appeared in my life one day. Let me first explain who Dot Dot is. Dot Dot is this infuriating creature shaped like a spot that makes an appearance in the clinic every now and then.
It all started on a normal day as I was sitting there minding my own business. I was cleaning my paw when I glanced over and there she was. She was sitting there so still. I just knew I could capture her. I pretended not to look at her as I did not want to draw attention to my true intent. She did not even move as I slowly stalked closer. Then….I pounced! I was sure I got her. I peeked under my paw and…..nothing! I would have sworn she was under my paw. Instead, she had jumped right on top of my paw and sat there. She was, apparently, deceptively quick. I tried to bite at her but this did not phase her. She never moved from my paw. Then, she suddenly darted off of my paw and on to the wall! She was so fast and she did not even have legs….at least not any that I could see. I walked closer and tried to swat her off of the wall. She jumped right on to my paw again. And then…..she was gone. As quickly as she had appeared, she left.
There is no rhyme nor reason as to when she appears. I do not know where she lives when she is not tormenting me. It is somewhere in that clinic probably in that bearded hooman’s messy cave somewhere. She generally likes to make an appearance when the tall hooman is lurking about. Sometimes, the tall hooman asks me if I want to see Dot Dot. Of course, I want to see Dot Dot. Even though, I have a love/hate relationship with her. While I love to stalk this prey and she activates my natural hunting instinct, she frustrates me because I can never seem to catch her. EVER! She just appears so quickly from nowhere! How does one compete with that ability?
We do the same dance every time. After many years of this battle, I have concluded that I cannot ever catch her or completely get rid of her. As quickly as she appears, she leaves. She is a complete mystery to me. She is truly my nemesis. Until next time Dot Dot!
